Bloom where you are planted.

My latest Bible art is posted with this blog because it reminded me of the story of Abraham.  He was asked to take up his possessions and go to a land unfamiliar to him.  How does my Bible Art make me think of him?  Well because a Youtuber that I subscribe to called Homestead Mama made a remark one day on her channel to bloom where we are planted.  That was what Abraham was called to do.  God planted him in a new environment and he was to bloom and prosper where God put him.   It also reminds me of Noah and his family after they got off the Ark and God tells them to be fruitful, increase and fill the earth.
Where has God called YOU to bloom?  Maybe he is not calling you to a foreign land, or maybe he is.
While I was looking for the name of a great book that I read years ago that would tie into this post I came across another story of a missionary named Jim Elliot.  He went to Ecuador along with a group of men to share the gospel to the Waodani tribe.  This tribe was one of the most violent on earth.  The group of men set up a camp near the Waodani village but when they tried to evangelize to them they were murdered.  Jim's wife actually wrote a book about it all called 'Through The Gates Of Splendor'.  One of Jim's famous quotes was "He is no fool who gives up what he can not keep to gain that which he can not lose".  Two years later Jim's wife Elisabeth and another group of missionaries were invited to live among the tribe.  Elisabeth excepted the invitation and many were reached with the gospel.
Just some amazing stories of incredible people who did great things for God and learned to bloom where they were planted.
I will post a link below to all the stories included in this post and a link to the Homestead Mama channel as well.  She has many tips and tricks for those interested in gardening or homesteading as well as holistic information.
