Study of Psalm 143. David's Struggle with Saul. When it seems like all hell has come against you.

 Bible Study on Psalm 143

David's Struggles

Saul had a giant problem, and I do mean giant.  He had a big hairy giant breathing down his neck and
boasting and bragging all over the place.  A humble, young boy named David came to his rescue.
Who would have thought that a young lad could do anything against such a massive, mean old giant?
David was more than just a small, young boy.  He was favored by his father.  He had been engineered for just a time like this.  He had run into any problems out on his own looking out for those crazy sheep.  They were always getting into trouble and going astray.  He learned who to call on when he was all alone watching out for them.  When the lion and the bear showed up, he called on Yahuah.  The Father knew he would call out to him and that was just the open door he needed to strengthen his faith and build his courage.  These gave David what it took to stand before that smelly giant with a slingshot
and stones in hand.  The Father knew who he would be but he would have to bring him through some tough things to make him what he wanted him to be.  King of a Nation!  Read more about his story here.

David's Struggle with Saul

After David took the giant down he developed a new friendship with the King at that time Saul.
His relationship with him was great at first until the people began to like him more.  This of course caused a lot of jealousy, anger, and hatred.  Find out more about this drama here.

What was the solution?

David knew better than to kill Saul even though he was trying to kill him.  He did what he thought was the only thing to do.  Run from him and pray for the Father to handle it.
Psalm 143 was possibly written during his dilemma.  This video is a study on the Psalm and how David dealt with the storms in his life.

He wrote many things about his struggles so don't forget to read through the book of psalms if you are in a crisis and remember to pray them over your life.
Could the solutions to our problems really be that easy?  Just pray and build your faith and let the Father fight your battle.  Maybe that is all you need to do.  Maybe sometimes you just need to ask for instructions to take down your giants.  We all have them.  They might not be a literal giant but a habit or doubt a difficult person etc.

What helps get us through until Yah steps in?

  • Read the word often and build your faith
  • Pray continually
  • Pray in the Holy Spirit
  • Ask for instructions
  • Don't give up
Now is not the time to give up.  David took down Goliath for sure but the next giant in his life wasn't so easy to get Victory over.  He needed persistence and a lot of help from the Father so don't give up.
